Mulvane Tree Board

The Mulvane Tree Board was established in 1990 by the Mulvane City Council as a part of the City Beautification Program. The Tree Board is funded by the City of Mulvane for the purpose of maintaining and improving the tree canopy in the city parks and public land. We are able to accomplish this by the planting of trees and partnering with the city parks department for maintenance and planning. We also enjoy support from the Kansas Forest Service

The mission of the Mulvane Tree Board is: To maintain the urban forest to Mulvane. Our goal is to provide public awareness to importance of trees and the environmental impact they have on our community. We are able to do this through various projects such as the Arbor Day celebration, the Annual Tree Sale in April and working with the youth to develop an appreciation for our tree resources. We also Sponsor the Memorial Tree Program to honor those held in regard.

The Tree Board Membership is comprised of seven volunteers appointed by the Mayor of Mulvane for a term of 3 years. This can be renewed every third year. Our knowledge of trees is obtained through attendance at workshops and conferences. Monthly meeting are held for planning projects and exchange of information regarding our tree resource in the city parks. We are not experts, just citizens interested in providing valuable resource for the future generations.
